Abstract Submission


Abstracts for oral or poster presentations are now invited.

The Healthy Ageing Conference invites presentations of research work, implemented programs, projects, initiatives and ideas that contributed or has the potential to contribute and promote healthy ageing on the following areas:

  • Topics, innovations, interventions and trending issues relevant to the clinical, medical, epidemiological developments including the aspects on health and social care service delivery that have a significant influence on healthy ageing.
  • Topics centred on psycho-social, socio-cultural and environmental factors, including age-friendly initiatives that significantly impact older people’s ability to age healthily.
  • Topics and ideas centred on technological advancement and innovations that aimed to promote healthy ageing including cognitive health, that have been implemented or has the potential for a successful implementation in the communities and countries in the Western Pacific region.

Guidelines for Abstract Submission

The following instructions serve as guidelines for submission. An abstract will not be considered for presentation if it does not meet the guidelines below.

  1. Please submit abstracts for both oral and poster presentations using the template provided. The abstract submission template can be downloaded here.
  2. All abstracts should be submitted no later than 18 June 2023 via the Online Abstract Submission System. Abstracts cannot be submitted by fax, hard copy or email.
  3. For authors submitting more than one abstract, each abstract must be submitted separately. One author can only present at most 2 papers.
  4. Before submitting your abstract, please make sure the abstract is prepared according to the instructions.
  5. The materials in the abstract should be original work, with the focus of the abstract clearly stated.
  6. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the information in the abstract. Submitted abstracts will be final and NO further editing should be expected. Abstracts will appear as submitted in the electronic program of proceedings.
  7. Preference for Oral or Poster presentation should be indicated in your submission. However, the final presentation mode for each paper will be decided by the Scientific Programme Committee’s evaluation and will be advised to the corresponding author / presenter within the acceptance notice.
  8. Corresponding author / presenter will receive all correspondence concerning the submission and is responsible for informing the other authors of the status of submission.
  9. Receipt of abstracts will be acknowledged through email. All presenters will be notified of the decision of the Scientific Programme Committee on or before 30 June 2023.
  10. The presenters of successful abstracts are required to register and pay for the registration fee by 31 July 2023. Failure to do so will result in exclusion from the final programme.

Abstract Requirements

  1. Abstracts can only be submitted in English.
  2. Abstracts should be prepared in the following format:
    • Title – The maximum title length is 30 words.
    • Authors - Type the first name followed by the family name. Omit degrees and titles. Underline the presenting author. The name of the institution and country should be included.

      Example:

      1 School of Nursing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong
      2 WHOCC, School of Nursing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong

    • Content – Abstracts should be organized under four headings:
      1. AIMS
      2. METHODS
      3. RESULTS
      4. CONCLUSIONS
    • Length – the abstract (excluding title, names and institution) should not exceed 300 words.
    • Format – Abstracts must be typed in black using Times New Roman with 12-point font size. Single line spacing should be used. Only standard abbreviations are allowed. References are NOT required. Graphic in content is NOT acceptable.
