The Chinese Consortium Student Exchange Summer Programme 2017/07/13-19

The Chinese Consortium Student Exchange Summer Programme on the theme "Innovation in Transitional Care" was held from 13 to 19 July at Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xian, Mainland China.

Over 200 teachers and students from 63 higher education institutes in Greater China joined the programme to discuss the development and trend of transitional care, learn more about the use of the Omaha system across the continuum of care for individuals, families, and communities, and the application of innovative practices.

The summer programme was jointly organised by the School of Nursing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, West China School of Nursing, Sichuan University, and the Department of Nursing, Xi'an Jiaotong University. Prof. Frances Wong and Mr Keith Fung were among the Guests of Honour officiating the opening ceremony of the summer programme.

Led by Prof. Frances Wong, and with the support of our colleagues Dr Shaoling Wang, Dr Paul Lee, the PolyU Omaha system team (Mr Chun-ki Chun, Ms Ka-wing Lau and Ms Kwok-ying Lo), and Dr Thomas Choi, the PolyU team delivered workshops, lessons, case studies and group discussions during the summer programme to enhance the knowledge and skills of the participants on transitional care.

The programme was overwhelmingly successful with extremely positive remarks. After the meeting, a number of schools requested to join the Chinese Consortium. All expressed their anticipation for the next Chinese Consortium summer camp in 2018!
