2017 is the 40th Anniversary of the School of Nursing. Happy Anniversary!
The School of Nursing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has made remarkable achievements and gave significant contributions to the nursing education in Hong Kong. As the Head of the School, I am proud to lead this diverse community of scholars and clinicians with a common goal: to pursue academic excellence of practical value in nursing and healthcare services.
Our staff members are making great efforts in serving the needs of our local community. They apply their knowledge and expertise to facilitate the development of nursing scholarship nationally and internationally. In partnership with our students, we are co-constructing a learning community that nurtures an appreciation for high standards and the pursuit of excellence in nursing practice.
The celebrations of our 40th Anniversary will be kicked off in March 2017, and a series of events, scholarly activities and gatherings will be organised to celebrate this special year.
The highlight of the celebratory activities is the International Forum and the Gala Dinner, which will be held on 19 October 2017. This special occasion gives us an opportunity to reflect on our achievements. We shall project our new visions and missions in our coming strategic development to excel in nursing for the well-being of mankind.
Last but not the least, I take this opportunity to extend my thanks to Prof. Alice Yuen Loke, the lead of the Organising Committee and all colleagues for their commitments in making all these impressive celebrating activities with momentum and themes.
I look forward to celebrating this memorable occasion with you all in 2017.
